Delaware commit Ian Robertson scored five goals and Amherst commit Dylan Park scored four goals for St. Anne's in the win.
"We studied this team a bit and we had matchups planned out. We rotated our offense well and found the open guys," Park said. "Possesion time was key for us. Every time we tried to force it they seemed to pick it off and send it the other way."
High Point commit Cory Palmer scored three goals and added an assist, and Tyler Cunningham scored three goals in the loss for Lovett.
Lovett was without its stud defenseman, Jordan Cunningham, who tore his ACL in the first game of the season.
St. Anne's is now 1-0, while the loss drops Lovett School to 3-1.
St. Anne's goalie Colin Bressan recorded 13 saves in his varsity debut. The junior battled with two others to earn the starting spot this season.
Bressan made several big saves, and with each one his teammates shouted his name in support from the sideline.
"He's been working all year and we were really proud with how he did," Park said. "He worked his butt off to earn that starting spot."
Fast Start For Longhorns
Lambert (Suwanee, Ga.) jumped out to a 12-0 lead and finished off Rockhurst (Kansas City, Mo.) 17-3.
The Longhorns had two players score three goals and improved their record to 7-0.
"We tell our kids all the time that lacrosse is a game of momentum, and in big games you have to grab it and keep it," Lambert coach Rich Wehman said. "If you lose it you never get it back."
Cory Phillips and Peyton Smith each scored three goals and Alec McNamara recorded six saves in the win for Lambert.
Other Scores From Day 1
Christ School (Asheville, N.C.) def. Durham Academy (Durham, N.C.), 5-3
Five different players scored for Christ School, including Zach Mitchell, who sealed the game by scoring the team's fifth goal with 34 seconds remaining in the game. Christ School improved to 6-0 with the win. Durham Academy drops to 0-1.
Norfolk Academy (Norfolk, Va.) def. Charlotte Country Day (Charlotte, N.C.), 11-2
David Best scored five goals and Thomas Brown and Drew Aladj each scored two for Norfolk Academy. Wyatt Devine recorded five saves in the win. Tripp Mulligan and Sterling Wilson both scored for Charlotte Country Day.
Blue Ridge School (St. George, Va.) def. Charlotte Latin (Charlotte, N.C.), 12-7
Tanner Fisher scored five goals, Chase Fraser added four goals and an assist, and Tyler Pace had three assists and a goal in the win for Blue Ridge School. Goalie Nick Voso recorded 13 saves in the win.
Providence Day School (Charlotte, N.C.) def. Christchurch School (Va.), 15-14
Jonathon Henry totaled four goals and three assists and Tony Asher added four goals for Providence Day. Steve Onak (3 goals, 2 assists) and Brendan McArdle (3 assists, 2 goals) also scored in the win. Midfielder Tony Asher won 24 of the team's faceoffs and scored four goals. Mitch Renfrow recorded 14 saves.
