One long streak was extended while an even longer one came to a halt this past weekend in Ohio football.

Top-ranked St. Edward ran its unbeaten mark to 18 games after a 34-17 win over previously undefeated Cardinal Mooney. No. 2 St. Xavier ended Colerain’s 61-game unbeaten streak at home behind the arm of Griffin Dolle.

Those team exploits were nothing compared to the individual effort of Mentor QB Mitch Trubisky. The senior amassed a school record 553 offensive yards and five TDs in the Cardinals’ win over St. Ignatius Friday night. The ESPNHS Midwest Player of the Week had 469 yards passing with three scores and added 84 rushing yards with two more TDs.

Here's a look at the top three teams in this week's rankings:

1. St. Edward — defeated Cardinal Mooney, 34-17 (last week No. 1)

2. St. Xavier — defeated Colerain, 17-14 (last week No. 2)

3. Colerain — loss to St. Xavier, 17-14 (last week No. 3)
