No. 1 St. Edward (6-1) travels to Cincinnati tomorrow to face No. 3 St. Xavier (5-2) in a matchup of Division I title contenders.
The Eagles are coming off a 38-7 loss to POWERADE FAB 50 No. 1 Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, N.J.) last Saturday, and it's clear they were unhappy with their performance.
"This was a big game, and as a team we let Ohio down," junior DB Soloman Warfield said after the loss.
The Eagles will look to re-establish their dominant run game behind senior lineman Kyle Kalis and Tyler Orlosky, both of whom were visibly upset at the O-line's play last week. The defense will also try to play better after allowing Bosco receivers to run free trough gaping holes in the secondary and failing to get off the field on third down.
St. Xavier has lost twice this season to a pair of ranked teams in Trinity (Ky.) and Moeller. The Bombers appear to be back on track after defeating Elder and La Salle in the last two weeks. With the way senior QB Griffin Doyle is playing (958 yards and seven TDs) and having this game on its home field, look for St. Xavier to keep this contest close.
Prediction: St. Edward 17-14
