It’s All-State State Watch time again when we put Ohio’s top teams and players under a microscope to see who is Doin’ Work, meeting or exceeding expectations, and who is Falling Back by failing to live up to their individual hype or team ranking.
Falling Back — Bishop Watterson
Watterson enters Friday's contest against St. Francis DeSales with a modest 3-4 record due in large part to a season-ending injury to junior quarterback Andy Elberson. Senior Austin Greene has filled in admirably under center and led the Eagles to victory last week. If Watterson is going to make a playoff push, it will need more from Greene as well as improved effort from a defense that has allowed 24 points a contest and has failed to show up against the state's top teams. This week's game will be a huge test for the unit, which will be tasked with slowing down OSU-bound RB Warren Ball (16 TDs).
