Winterling flying high in this week's All-State stock watch

By David Auguste

It’s All-State State Watch time again when we put Oregon’s top teams and players under a microscope to see who is Doin’ Work, meeting or exceeding expectations, and who is Falling Back by failing to live up to their individual hype or team ranking.

Doin' Work — Adam Winterling, Jesuit
The Crusaders' rushing attack has helped the squad light up the scoreboard this season, but when they have gone to the air Winterling is usually the one on the receiving end. The senior is a big target at 6-foot-4, 190 pounds and has snagged a team-best 15 balls for five touchdowns this fall. Winterling has also been key to the team's run-blocking scheme on the outside, setting up big gains for senior QB Nicholas Rothstein and junior RB A.J. Glass. The trio will try to avenge last year's Metro League loss to Aloha this Friday, when they host the defending Class 6A champs. Look for Winterling to try and exploit Aloha's secondary and build on his strong start.
