Grant's big plays lead to big win

Grant recorded big plays all over the field during the Generals’ 41-14 win over Canby. Nathan Halverson had a pair of touchdowns, including a 96-yard kickoff return, and Cordell Harris snatched a 64-yard bomb for a score and recorded a 100-yard pick-six to lead the way. The win vaults Grant into the quarterfinals for the fifth time since the 2003 season... Lake Oswego continues to torch defenses and Steven Long continues to be the main aggressor. The senior rushed for 222 yards and six scores in a 49-28 defeat of West Salem... Jesuit received 218 yards and a touchdown on a staggering 41 rushes from A.J. Glass to clip Tualatin... Hayward Demison III gashed Thurston to the tune of 291 yards and found the end zone four times as Central Catholic punished Thurston, 48-27.
West Albany secured a spot in the semifinals on the strength of Ryker Smith's running. The talented back punched in the decisive score from four yards out to complete a 300-plus rushing day as the Bulldogs completed a come-from-behind 28-21 victory over Bend... Kamerun Smith connected with Taylor Walcott for three scores as part of a five-TD effort in Marist's 49-14 crushing of Wilsonville.
Mark Holenstein booted a 27-yard field goal with no time left on the clock to guide La Salle to a 32-30 win over North Bend and secure a spot in the state semifinals. Holenstein, the team's starting QB, also went 19-of-28 for 224 yards through the air
