THE WINNER: Maddie Manning
School: Ankeny (Iowa)
Athletic achievement: Manning averaged 16.6 points, five rebounds, 3.5 steals and 2.6 assists while shooting 54.6 percent on from inside the arc this past season, leading the Hawkettes to the Class 4A state final. A 2011 First Team All-State selection, she is ranked as the nation’s No. 33 recruit by the HoopGurlz ESPNU 100.
Academic excellence: Manning has maintained a 3.49 GPA in the classroom.

“Maddie Manning is one of the top players ever to come out of Iowa,” said Mark Tiby, head coach at Urbandale (Iowa). “Her skills have developed each year and she plays the game with ease. I believe her biggest asset is her attitude, sportsmanship and her demeanor.”
THE FUTURE: Manning has signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball on an athletic scholarship at the University of Oklahoma this fall.
