THE WINNER: Danny O’Donnell

THE BASICS

School: St. John’s College (Washington, D.C.)
Grade: Senior
Position: Right-handed pitcher
Height: 6-foot-2
Weight: 180 pounds

THE PILLARS

Athletic achievement: O'Donnell posted a 6-2 record on the mound, along with a 0.34 ERA and 43 strikeouts in 43.2 innings pitched this past season, leading the Cadets (26-3) to the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference tournament semifinals. The 2012 WCAC Player of the Year, he also held opposing hitters to a .111 batting average and produced a WHIP of 0.62.

Academic excellence: O’Donnell has maintained a 3.0 GPA in the classroom.

Exemplary character: He has volunteered locally at an area retirement home and on behalf of the Boys and Girls Club of America.
