THE WINNER: Trevor Lane

THE BASICS

School: Mount Si (Snoqualmie, W.Va.)
Grade: Senior
Position: LHP/OF/1B
Height: 6-foot
Weight: 195 pounds

THE PILLARS

Athletic achievement: Lane posted a 7-1 record on the mound along with a 2.15 ERA and 77 strikeouts in 48.67 innings this past season, leading the Wildcats (20-4) to the Class 3A state semifinals. A 2011 First Team All-State selection, he also batted .446 with 19 RBI, 23 runs-scored and 11 stolen bases in 12 attempts.

Academic excellence: Lane has maintained a 3.18 GPA in the classroom.

Exemplary character: He has volunteered locally in association with his school’s Food Ball, preparing meals and gathering canned goods for needy families. He has also donated his time as a youth baseball coach.
