Steele's Tommy Armstrong commits to Nebraska football
By By Brandon Parker
As the catalyst behind Steele's 4-0 start and No. 50 position in the POWERADE FAB 50 rankings, Tommy Armstrong has shown that there is life for Steele football after the graduation of star tailback Malcolm Brown. And now, the senior quarterback has given more life to Nebraska's football program.
Armstrong committed to the Cornhuskers on Monday, just a day after returning from his official visit to the Nebraska campus. The dual-threat QB follows in the footsteps of S.A. Madison alum Aaron Green, who is now a freshman tailback at Nebraska and, along with Brown, graced the cover of our ESPNHS Texas magazine last year.
Armstrong has totaled 709 yards, five touchdowns and zero interceptions this season for the defending Class 5A, Division II champs.
