We sifted through this week’s slate of playoff games and keyed in on four contests you should check out.

DeMatha (6-3) vs. Gonzaga (7-3)
Gonzaga bounced back from a three-game losing streak to win its final five contests, including a 17-9 win against a battered DeMatha squad, to secure the No. 2 seed and a home game in the WCAC tourney. DeMatha has endured a roller coaster season but with a win it can return to the WCAC finals for the eighth straight fall.

H.D. Woodson (6-4) vs. Coolidge (7-2)
Coolidge has seen enough of Woodson's DCIAA dominance and are hoping to knock off the reigning champs en route to a berth in the Turkey Bowl. Coolidge had its five-game win streak snapped in OT by Dunbar last week but looks to rebound behind a passing attack piloted by Femi Bamiro (19 total TDs). He will do his best to avoid Woodson corner Kenny Crawley, a ball-hawking Tennessee recruit who also has contributed six TDs on offense.

Lake Braddock (6-4) vs. Oakton (8-2)
The Cougars didn't have the type of finish you want heading into postseason play. Oakton dropped decisions to Westfield and Centreville by a combined score of 77-24. They can take a step in the right direction by beating a Lake Braddock squad, which has struggled in its first season after QB Michael Nebrich graduated. The Bruins ended the regular season on a high note, rebounding from back-to-back losses with a three-game win streak to grab the six seed.

Suitland (9-1) vs. Wise (9-1)
These two squads have been playoff regulars in Class 4A action in recent years, and each has a legitimate shot at the state crown. Suitland is tough to stop once senior Nyema Washington gets in sync with his receivers and junior Anthony Squire starts churning out tough yards on the ground. As usual, Wise is powered by a stingy defense and a strong rushing attack. Uriah Bethea and Chase Powell lead the effort on offense, while the defense has held seven opponents to single digits.
