PVI drops, Montrose rises in hoop rankings

3/20/2012

The Alhambra Catholic Invitational really shook up the top of our rankings, as Paul VI falls out of the No. 1 spot for the first time in several weeks. DeMatha was able to knock the Panthers from their perch with a convincing win in the finals after dropping the three previous head-to-head matchups. Montrose Christian, which plays in next week's ESPNHS NHSI, now occupies the No. 1 spot followed by DeMatha, PVI and Gonzaga. the rest of the rankings remain unchanged as the season is over for the rest of the region.

Here's a look at the top three:

Montrose Christian (20-2) — last week No. 3

DeMatha (30-5) — last week No. 3

Paul VI (34-3) — last week No. 1
