DeMatha making news both on the pitch and the hardwood

By David Auguste

DeMatha soccer remains undefeated but the team took a slight dip in the POWERADE FAB 50 ESPNHS Team Rankings. The Stags captured victories over Gonzaga (2-1) and Sidwell Friends (3-1) to move to 5-0. DeMatha remains the lone Greater D.C. squad in the FAB 50 at No. 5 overall.

In other DeMatha news, senior forward Jerami Grant has made a verbal pledge to play basketball at Syracuse next season. The long, 6-foot-7 forward is rated the No. 43 prospect in the ESPNU 100 and announced his commitment on Twitter last week. His brother Jerian will suit up for Notre Dame while his oldest brother Jerai played at Clemson before beginning his pro career overseas. The three are sons of former NBA player Harvey Grant.
