McNairs to match donations for Phillips

October, 29, 2013
The charitable foundation bearing the names of Texans owner Bob McNair and his wife Janice will match a donation to Bum Phillips' charities once donations reach $150,000.

Phillips, the legendary former Oilers coach, died at his ranch in Goliad, Texas, at the age of 90 two weeks ago. His family asked that those wishing to remember Phillips make donations to his charity to help build a retreat to serve the hearing impaired, rather than send flowers.

The Houston Texans Foundation is also planning to donate the proceeds of this weekend's game day auction to Phillips' charity.
