Houston Texans running back Arian Foster has been scarce locally since being placed on injured reserve with a back injury that required surgery in November.

But Foster's offseason project, "Draft Day," is getting closer to its release. In what's been described as a "prominent" role in the 2014 movie, Foster, who entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent, plays a player who gets drafted. (The trailer is up on YouTube.)

"It came along, it happened, it's more just a humbling experience to sit there and chop it up with Kevin Costner and Jennifer Garner and all these great actors and entertainers," Foster said during training camp. "... I tried to be as prepared as possible. It's a fun thing."

Foster considers himself a man of many interests. He also had a role in an episode of "Hawaii Five-0" that he filmed while in Hawaii for the Pro Bowl.

He was asked this summer if acting is something he'd like to do later.

"My first and foremost responsibility and obligation is to play football," Foster said at the time. "Nothing's going to get in the way of that."
