NFL.com's Adam Schein predicted the Texans and Falcons to play each other in this past February's Super Bowl. Well, that prediction fell spectacularly to pieces, but after reviewing both teams' drafts following their surprising dips, he thinks success is not far off for either. Schein expects a quick return to the playoffs and says he should have predicted Super Bowl appearances for these teams following the 2015 season.

Texans outside linebacker Brooks Reed went up to Wisconsin earlier this year to work out with defensive end J.J. Watt. Watt said a few weeks ago that he lived the "Rocky" lifestyle, sleeping on a mattress in his friend's dining room. Reed... opted for a hotel, writes John McClain of the Houston Chronicle.

After making their selections last week, the Texans talked a lot about the value they got. Because of the value they were expecting, they traded up to pick up Notre Dame nose tackle Louis Nix. Texans general manager Rick Smith said on Monday during a charity golf tournament the Texans had a second-round grade on Nix, whom they took with the 19th pick of the third round, writes Dave Zangaro of CSNHouston.com.
