RTC: Texans 31st in CBS power poll

Reading the coverage of the Houston Texans...

Pete Prisco of CBSSports.com ranks the Texans 31st in his latest power poll. The only team he ranks lower is Oakland, a team the Texans will play this season. He writes: "Bill O'Brien has a big rebuilding job in front of him. It will be even tougher with Ryan Fitzpatrick at quarterback." His top five are the Seahawks, Broncos, 49ers, Patriots and Saints.

The Texans made a few transactions on Tuesday as part of the pre-camp roster shuffling process. They signed tight end Chris Coyle, writes Dave Zangaro of CSNHouston.com. Tim Jackson was released with a "failure to report an injury" designation and tight end/fullback Brad Smelley was also let go.

Yesterday, I reported Texans receiver Andre Johnson was at NRG Stadium on Monday to learn the team's offense. The agent for Texans receiver Andre Johnson spoke to the Houston Chronicle, and while he would not address my report, he said he has been in contact with the Texans, writes Brian Smith of the Houston Chronicle.

Meanwhile, James Palmer of CSNHouston.com cited a source saying it was appearing more likely that Johnson would soon end his holdout.
