Reading the coverage of the Houston Texans...
This video devolved into a commercial at the end of it, but I rather enjoyed the beginning, in which a member of Bleacher Report plays heads up with Texans outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney. The first card he puts on his forehead says J.J. Watt, and when Clowney has to give clues, he goes with: "No girls, no party, no play, all football." Clowney also is tasked with giving clues on Johnny Manziel, Kim Kardashian, Robert Griffin III and Bill Belichick. Check out his reactions. They're pretty funny.
NFL teams will rise and fall during the 2014 season, writes John McClain of the Houston Chronicle. He goes through a list of teams that could change their fortunes this season.
There was a 37 percent increase in no-huddle plays between 2012 and 2013 in the NFL, writes Kevin Clark of the Wall Street Journal. That change has forced one group of people to get in shape: referees. "The no-huddle is putting more pressure on the umpire -- they've got to get the ball, run in there, set it. You are seeing a tendency that they need to be the most fit and athletic guy out there," former referee Jim Daopoulos said. Give this unique story a read.
