RTC: City joins support of Quessenberry

Reading the coverage of the Houston Texans ...

DQ Strong Day, a day meant to honor David Quessenberry and raise money for lymphoma research, took an official capacity on Thursday, writes Dave Zangaro of CSNHouston.com. Houston officially proclaimed August 14, 2014, to be DQ Strong day. “Yeah, it’s kind of been overwhelming a little bit,” Myers said after Thursday’s practice. “I talked to David yesterday and tried to let him know kind of what was going to happen today, with the proclamation for DQ Day, and he’s overwhelmed and rightfully so. For the whole city of Houston to come out and be able to show their support for DQ and our brothers from Atlanta, the Falcons, come out and show their support as well, it means a lot and he’s battling his butt off right now, he’s a strong individual character all around."

Brian T. Smith of the Houston Chronicle says Texans coach Bill O'Brien was humbled and the team was humiliated by a 32-0 loss to the Arizona Cardinals in their preseason opener. He believes O'Brien's demeanor has changed since the loss.

For the past two days, the Texans have practiced with the Atlanta Falcons, and they found the exercise to be fruitful, writes Drew Dougherty of HoustonTexans.com. That's good because next week they're practicing with the Denver Broncos.
