RTC: On Texans fans booing
By Tania Ganguli
Reading the coverage of the Houston Texans...
John McClain of the Houston Chronicle says fans have the right to boo. They're as frustrated as the team is. McClain also gives the Texans an F-minus as their overall grade. The Chronicle also notes, in this unbylined post, that rookie receiver DeAndre Hopkins was pulled from the game for making several mental mistakes, coach Gary Kubiak said.
Chris Baldwin of Houston Culture Map takes a stab at the ridiculousness of the Texans' fall. He, a noted Case Keenum supporter, found the decision to bench Keenum inexplicable. He writes: "Regardless, you don't have to be Cortland Finnegan to know you're not winning a fight with Andre Johnson. Not in Houston."
The Texans were two yards away from a touchdown that would have won the game, writes Dave Zangaro of CSNHouston.com. The Texans were again very close to snapping their losing streak. Instead it's extended to eight games.
The Oakland Raiders also left Sunday's game with quarterback uncertainty, writes Kristie Rieken of The Associated Press. But they'll have happier vibes while dealing with it, coming off a win in which Matt McGloin played well.
Wondering how Ed Reed did with his new team? He started for the New York Jets in his first game since being released by the Texans. His presence didn't help a struggling Jets secondary, writes Kevin Armstrong of the New York Daily News.
