A weekly examination of the Colts’ ESPN.com Power Ranking:

Preseason: 10 | Last week: 6 | ESPN.com Power Ranking since 2002

All it took was for the Colts (5-2) to beat Peyton Manning and the undefeated Denver Broncos to move up to No. 2, their highest ranking of the season, in this week’s Power Rankings. Kansas City (7-0) is the only remaining undefeated team in the league and rightfully deserves to be in the top spot. The Colts' two losses are against Miami (No. 16) and San Diego (No. 12), but they’ve also beaten Super Bowl contenders Denver (No. 3), Seattle (No. 4) and San Francisco (No. 6) this season. The biggest question mark is whether the Colts can maintain their position considering they’ll be without receiver Reggie Wayne (knee) for the rest of the season. The Colts, who have a two-game lead in the AFC South, are still a playoff team, but I don't see them being able to stay there. They have a bye this weekend then play at Houston on Nov. 3.

Here’s a breakdown of the voting this week:

Ashley Fox: 2

Mike Sando: 1

Kevin Seifert: 5

John Clayton: 2

Dan Graziano: 2

Jamison Hensley: 4
