Peyton Manning at his best for Broncos

Former Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning played in his fourth AFC Championship Game on Sunday when he led the Denver Broncos past the New England Patriots 26-16.

Manning won two of three AFC Championship Games while with the Colts. His best performance in a AFC Championship Game was Sunday with the Broncos. He was 32-of-43 for 400 yards, two touchdowns and he managed to avoid being sacked. The fine folks at ESPN Stats & Information said Manning completed 7-of-8 passes for 186 yards on throws of at least 15 yards downfield. He was a perfect 8-of-8 for 116 yards and two touchdowns when using play action.

Manning’s worst AFC Championship game happened to also be against the Patriots. He was only 23-of-47 for 237 yards, one touchdown and four interceptions in the game played Jan. 18, 2004.
