INDIANAPOLIS – You can sit back, take a deep breath and finally relax.

The concern over Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck possibly dealing with the Madden cover jinx has officially ended.

Luck was beaten by Carolina quarterback Cam Newton in the semifinals for the right to be voted on the cover of EA Sports' "Madden NFL 15" video game.

While it would have been an honor for Luck to be on the cover, the Colts’ fan base had serious concern because there’s a history of players struggling the same season they grace the cover of the longtime video game.

Daunte Culpepper. Eddie George. Michael Vick. Shaun Alexander.

Those are just a few players who have experienced the "Madden jinx."

Luck isn’t just a player for the Colts. He is the Colts. That’s why it’s understandable that some of Indy’s fan base wanted Luck to have nothing to do with being on the cover of the video game.

Newton will face Seattle cornerback Richard Sherman, who beat San Francisco’s Colin Kaepernick, in the finals. Voting for the finals runs through June 6. The winner will be announced on June 6 on "SportsCenter."
