@MikeWellsNFL are you buying this hype surrounding Moncrief? I realize he didn't have a stellar QB in college.

I accidently left this question out the mailbag over the weekend.
The Colts were criticized by some for taking receiver Donte Moncrief in the third round. But he fits exactly what they're looking for.
He's got the size -- 6-foot-2 -- that Indianapolis needs at the position. Moncrief's impact for next season is unknown because he'll likely be the fourth receiver at best on the depth chart behind Reggie Wayne, T.Y. Hilton and Hakeem Nicks.
This pick was also made with the Colts' future in mind. Wayne and Nicks will both be free agents in 2015. I'm not saying both players won't be back after next season, but the Colts need to have a plan in place in case one or both don't return. So Moncrief will have at least one season to learn from Wayne, Nicks and Hilton while also having an opportunity to contribute on the field whenever he can.
