Indianapolis Colts: Gabe Jackson

INDIANAPOLIS -- NFL draft guru Mel Kiper held a conference call Thursday talking about his latest mock draft and answering questions about draft prospects.

The Indianapolis Colts -- as you've known since last September -- do not have a first-round draft pick because of the trade for running back Trent Richardson from the Cleveland Browns.

The good news, according to Kiper, is that there will be plenty of interior offensive linemen available for the Colts when they select in the second round. The interior part of the offensive line was one of the weak links for Indianapolis last season. Mike McGlynn, who started at guard most of the season, is a free agent. Donald Thomas is expected to start at one of the guard positions after missing most of last season with a torn tendon in his quad.

“You're not going to have anybody in the interior of the offensive line go in the first [round],” Kiper said. “It's going to be all tackles. There are a lot of centers and guards in the second round, third-round area that could certainly help the Indianapolis Colts do a better job of protecting Andrew Luck and get some running room for those backs.”
