RTC: Allen may sub for Posluszny

Jaguars linebacker Russell Allen says his strength is being able to play multiple positions. That's good, writes the Florida Times-Union's Hays Carlyon, because he may have to fill in Sunday for middle linebacker Paul Posluszny.

"It's going to be different, potentially playing a different position, but I've always done that," Allen said. "It's kind of how I made my niche in this league in the first place was being able to play multiple positions. It's how I learn anyway -- learning everyone's job, so I think I'm ahead of the game as far as that goes."

Posluszny, the team's leading tackler and best defensive player, suffered a concussion in the fourth quarter of last Sunday's 29-27 victory over Tennessee and his status for Sunday's home game against the Arizona Cardinals is in doubt. Allen, who started 16 games at outside linebacker and racked up 201 tackles last season, hasn't started a game at middle linebacker since his rookie season (2009).

Here are some additional pieces of Jaguars content from around the Web in our daily Reading the Coverage feature:

Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer may not have done it intentionally, but he took a shot at Jaguars fans when he talked about how he loved to play in front of huge, hostile crowds on the road but wouldn't experience that in Jacksonville.

The Jaguars haven't scored a touchdown at EverBank Field since the first quarter of the 2012 home finale against New England, write's the T-U's Vito Stellino.

The T-U's Ryan O'Halloran writes that the Jaguars' struggling run game likely won't have any success against a tough Cardinals defensive front in his weekly Three & Out feature. He also writes about tight end Marcedes Lewis and punt returner Ace Sanders.
