JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- There were some standout performances in the South team's 20-10 victory over the North team in Saturday's Senior Bowl. The Florida Times-Union's Hays Carlyon gave his thoughts on a few.

Some highlights:

Auburn defensive end Dee Ford "was unblockable for most of the game, earning MVP honors. He had two sacks, but also drew two holding penalties, including one by Notre Dame offensive tackle Zack Martin."

Fresno State quarterback Derek Carr "launched a pass that traveled roughly 60 yards through the air off a flea flicker."

Florida State linebacker Telvin Smith "made multiple open-field tackles, including one on a third-down play to get the North offense off the field. Looks more like a safety in the NFL, mainly because he struggles to shed blocks in the run game."

Here are some additional pieces of Jaguars-related content from around the Web in our daily Reading the Coverage feature:

The T-U's Ryan O'Halloran writes that the Jaguars drafting Eastern Illinois quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo in the second round would be a bold move. In the past 10 drafts, only 11 quarterbacks from the Football Championship Subdivision or Division II have been drafted.

O'Halloran also spent some time in position meetings.

WJXT TV-4 sports director Sam Kouvaris and Cole Pepper discuss, among other things, the Jaguars at the Senior Bowl and the departure of assistant coach Mark Duffner and head athletic trainer Mike Ryan in their podcast.

Here's my list of 10 players from the South team who could potentially end up on the Jaguars' roster.
