JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Jaguars will open today's OTA to the public and it will be interesting to see what kind of crowd shows up at the practice fields adjacent to EverBank Field.
The last time the Jaguars opened a workout, a record 6,214 fans showed up to watch the final day of a two-day rookie minicamp. That was on a sunny Saturday afternoon, however. Today's two-hour workout begins at 10:50 a.m. so the crowd should be significantly smaller -- more along the lines of the 2,054 fans that watched the first day of the rookie minicamp.
Still, that would be a significant number to show up on a Friday morning.
"It's great," coach Gus Bradley said. "I know how much we appreciate them, and for them to come out and get a chance to be with us is a great day. We talked to our team about Thursday [as] something to look forward to."
Bradley said the Jaguars might have more 11-on-11 sessions during the workout than they did on Monday and Tuesday.
In order to attend today's workout, fans need to register on Jaguars.com.
The Jaguars also will open the first two days of their mandatory minicamp to the public. The practices on June 17 and 18 will be 1:30-3:30 p.m.
