Wake-up call: Day 2

July, 26, 2014
Every day of Jacksonville Jaguars training camp we'll have a wake-up call that previews the day ahead.

9:55 a.m. ET -- Practice (open to the public).
Approx. 12:15 p.m. ET -- Jaguars coach Gus Bradley news conference

Here are some of the storylines we'll be following today:

With receiver Cecil Shorts already battling a minor injury (hamstring tightness), it's even more important that second-round picks Marqise Lee and Allen Robinson speed up their development. Shorts' injury isn't serious, but the Jaguars may opt to hold him out for a few days as a precaution. Robinson will work mainly as the X receiver while Lee will see time at X, Z and in the slot.

Cornerback Demetrius McCray is working with the first unit while Alan Ball (ankle) is out. The former seventh-round pick has the size (6-foot, 185 pounds) the Jaguars like in their corners and the reps he's getting are valuable. The Jaguars are intrigued by McCray's potential.

LEO Andre Branch had a great spring and coach Gus Bradley raved about his quickness and explosion off the line of scrimmage. His biggest problem has been consistency. How will he follow up is impressive performances in OTAs and minicamp?
