Every day of Jacksonville Jaguars training camp we'll have a wake-up call that previews the day ahead.
9:30 a.m. ET -- Wide receivers coach Jerry Sullivan
9:55 a.m. ET -- Practice (open to the public).
Approx. 12:15 p.m. ET -- Jaguars coach Gus Bradley news conference.
Here are some of the storylines we'll be following:
Coach Gus Bradley said the Jaguars will make a determination today on whether running back Toby Gerhart will play in Friday night's preseason opener against Tampa Bay. Bradley said he'd like to see Gerhart get on the field for at least five plays, but it will depend on if Gerhart practices today. He has missed the last four practices with a hip flexor injury.
The offensive line has struggled in 11-on-11 against the first-team defensive line. That's not completely unexpected considering the defensive line has been significantly upgraded thanks to the addition of ends Chris Clemons and Red Bryant. The middle of the OL, including left guard Zane Beadles, needs to become more consistent in the running game. Getting some movement against the 323-pound Bryant would be a good start.
Sullivan is going to provide an update on the progress of rookie receiver Marqise Lee, who has been the team's most impressive rookie -- and its best receiver in camp.
