JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Here's a preview of what to watch for regarding the Jacksonville Jaguars on Tuesday …
Rookie quarterback Blake Bortles got his highly-anticipated first-team reps on Monday -- for all of three plays during 11-on-11 red zone work. He also worked with the first-team receivers during 7-on-7, but that doesn't count. Coach Gus Bradley said Bortles will get a similar number of reps today. Bortles also will be available to the media before today's practice to talk about his three snaps.
The center spot is the position to watch right now. Mike Brewster and Jacques McClendon are competing to be the starter, with McClendon taking all the first-team reps during Sunday's final open practice. The Jaguars may name one of them the starter for Friday's preseason game in Detroit today.
Tight end Marcedes Lewis has had a great camp, but the situation behind him is dicey because of the injury to Clay Harbor (calf). Brandon Barden and Marcel Jensen are battling to be the No. 2 tight end right now, which would make them the No. 3 tight end when Harbor does return.
The Jaguars will practice for two hours in helmets and shoulder pads. Bortles is scheduled to speak to the media and Bradley will have his news conference at 3:30 p.m. ET.
