RTC: Marcedes Lewis' future changes

By Michael DiRocco

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Things seem to have changed regarding Jaguars tight end Marcedes Lewis' future in Jacksonville.

Early in the season, it didn't appear as if Lewis would be around next season. A high cap number -- $8.25 million -- was the main reason, but another factor was the fact he missed six games because of an injured calf. Plus, when he did return, his production was pretty sparse in the passing game. He played well in the running game but caught just eight passes in his first four games.

However, his production since then -- 14 catches, including four touchdowns, in the last five games -- has shifted the feelings toward Lewis returning in 2014, writes the Florida Times-Union's Ryan O'Halloran.

Here are some additional pieces of Jaguars content from around the Web in our daily Reading the Coverage feature:

Linebacker Geno Hayes will miss the final game of the season and undergo arthroscopic surgery to repair damage to his right knee, O'Halloran writes.

Here's my guess on which of the Jaguars' unrestricted and restricted free agents will be back next season.
