RTC: Jaguars intrigued by Jaylen Watkins

By Michael DiRocco

The secondary is one position at which the Jaguars are in pretty good shape.

General manager David Caldwell drafted five defensive backs last year and three ended up starting the majority of the season. It's not an area of need this year, but that doesn't mean the Jaguars won't draft a defensive back in May. One player who has caught the coaching staff's eye is former Florida cornerback Jaylen Watkins.

Watkins has played inside and outside and has a lot of experience in press coverage. The Gators play nearly exclusively man coverage and put a lot of responsibility on their corners and Watkins' comfort in that area has really shown up during practice for this week's Senior Bowl, writes the Florida Times-Union's Ryan O'Halloran.

O'Halloran writes that the Jaguars have been eyeing pass-rushers this week and three players have stood out: Jeremiah Attaochu, Chris Smith and Dee Ford.

Coach Gus Bradley says the team's seven key injured players are on pace to return for organized team activities (OTAs) in April.

In an NFL Nation confidential survey of 320 players, Minnesota's Adrian Peterson was the person other players would most like to see play in a Super Bowl. There was a wide range of answers from Jaguars players.
