Greenberg points to the third-down rebound effect, which is a stat compiled by FootballOutsiders.com. It shows that teams weak on third down in one season generally improve the following season and vice versa. The Jaguars converted just 22.7 percent on third down in 2013, well below the league average of 38.6 percent.
Because of the Jaguars' additions of quarterback Blake Bortles and receivers Marqise Lee and Allen Robinson, as well as the new attitude around the franchise, Greenberg is taking the over in the LVH sports book's over/under victory total of 4.5 in 2014.
