KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- One of the spoils that goes to winning teams is national TV exposure, and Thursday came the first sign of that for the 4-0 Kansas City Chiefs. Their Oct. 20 home game against the Houston Texans has been moved from noon into the late afternoon TV window and will begin at 3:25 p.m. CT.
Look for the Chiefs to have the start time of other games moved as long as they keep winning. A prime target to be flexed to the Sunday night slot is their Nov. 17 game against the Broncos in Denver. The Dec. 1 rematch against the Broncos and the Dec. 22 game against the Indianapolis Colts, both at Arrowhead Stadium, could have the start time switched from noon to 3:25 CT. Another possibility for a night game is the season finale on Dec. 29 against the Chargers in San Diego.
The Chiefs may not have the most powerful offensive team or a bunch of offensive stars that fans around the country are begging to see. But, their defense is another story, and that's what makes them a most entertaining team.
