Chiefs won't play Broncos in prime time

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that CBS has protected both games between the Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos, meaning neither of those matchups can be flexed into the Sunday night television slot.

The teams, both currently 5-0, will play one another on Nov. 17 in Denver with a scheduled kickoff at 4:05 p.m. ET (3:05 CT) and on Dec. 1 at Arrowhead Stadium with kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m. (noon CT).

Surprising news, at least regarding the Nov. 17 game. Fox has the doubleheader games that weekend, so the potential audience for Chiefs-Broncos could be limited. But CBS has the doubleheader on Dec. 1, so it’s likely the start time for that game will be moved to 4:25 p.m. ET (3:25 CT).
