A weekly examination of the Packers’ ESPN.com Power Ranking:

Preseason: 22 | Last Week: 10 | ESPN.com Power Ranking since 2002

The Kansas City Chiefs finished the regular season right about where they belong in the ESPN Power Rankings, at No. 10.

The ninth spot would probably be more appropriate for the Chiefs. Arizona is ranked ninth, but the Cardinals didn't make the playoffs.

Otherwise, the Chiefs are in a good spot. They are ranked ninth among the 12 playoff teams and fifth among the AFC's six teams, ahead of the San Diego Chargers. The Chiefs are seeded fifth in the AFC playoffs.

The Chiefs, who were also 10th in last week's rankings, weren't penalized for their season-ending loss on Sunday to the Chargers in San Diego. The Chiefs benched most of their starters but still took the Chargers into overtime. San Diego eventually won 27-24.
