Johnson is again having a strong season, but didn't make the Pro Bowl teams, either. Johnson tied his career high in sacks with 4.5 and had a couple of interceptions, but otherwise didn't have the flashy stats that make things easier for the voters. But looking at his season on a down-by-down basis, Johnson was deserving.
Running back Jamaal Charles and strong safety Eric Berry were first-team picks. Both were easy selections. Charles led the NFL in touchdowns with 19 total and was second in yards from scrimmage with 1,980. Berry had the best season of his career, twice scoring on interception returns.
Nose tackle Dontari Poe, outside linebacker Tamba Hali and punt returner Dexter McCluster were second-team choices. Poe had 4.5 sacks, Hali had 11 and McCluster scored two touchdowns, including an electrifying 89-yarder against the New York Giants in September.
