KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- With Anthony Fasano and Travis Kelce on the injury report, the Kansas City Chiefs signed tight end Kevin Brock. Brock went to camp with the Chiefs this season but was released shortly before the start of the regular season.
The move was a necessary one because Fasano has an injured ankle and Kelce a sore knee. The other tight end on the roster is Sean McGrath.
Brock showed some receiving skills in training camp. His familiarity with the offensive system will come in handy given that this week's game against the Eagles in Philadelphia will be played on Thursday night.
The Chiefs had big plans in training camp for their tight ends in the passing game but injuries have to this point prevented that from happening. Tony Moeaki injured his shoulder in the preseason and is out for the season. Kelce has yet to catch a pass this season while Fasano and McGrath have just six receptions between them.
The Chiefs released undrafted rookie safety Bradley McDougald to clear roster room for Brock.
