First-round linebacker Dee Ford of Auburn and fifth-round quarterback Aaron Murray of Georgia are unsigned.
Thomas is world-class fast, and the Chiefs have openings to accommodate his speed and big-play ability as both a kickoff and punt returner and a slot receiver. The other draft picks have established veterans blocking their path toward immediate playing time.
Thomas was the Chiefs' fourth-round draft pick, No. 124 overall. Based on the contract signed by the 124th pick from last year, Houston defensive lineman Trevardo Williams, Thomas's deal is for four years and worth about $2.5 million, including a signing bonus of about $400,000.
