Today's the day for the Women of Troy — the day they find out if a 19-12 overall record (and 12-6 in conference play) is good enough for an NCAA Tournament bid.

The latest projection from our Charlie Creme has USC earning a No. 10 seed and opening up against Wisconsin in the Kansas City Regional. That would mean a Sunday start for the Women of Troy in Notre Dame, Ind. and a potential second-round matchup against second-seeded Notre Dame in its home city.

But Creme also lists the Women of Troy as one of the "last four in" to the tournament bracket, meaning their placement is almost a toss-up for the selection committee. Whatever ends up happening, USC is likely to be either one of the last four in or last four out. Look for the Women of Troy to be between a nine and eleven seed if they do garner a bid.

We'll have a report from the Galen Center Founder's Room, where head coach Michael Cooper's team is planning to gather to watch the selection show at 4 p.m.

Notes: In other news, offensive lineman Seantrel Henderson's father told our JC Shurburtt that Henderson plans to sign a letter of intent and financial aid agreement with USC this week...The Orange County Register reports that USC's 2010 season opener — Sept. 2 at Hawaii — will start at 8 p.m. PST...Incidentally, USC baseball will try to go for its third consecutive win tonight in Hawaii. The Trojans beat the Rainbows 12-2 last night as star first baseman Ricky Oropesa went 5-for-5 with two RBI.
