USC receiver Marqise Lee's impressive run in the NCAA track & field postseason has officially come to an end.

The freshman long jumper jumped just over 24 feet -- 7.37 meters -- to finish 17th among 24th competitors in Wednesday's long jump finals in Des Moines, Ia. The event's winner was Marquise Goodwin, who plays receiver at Texas.

Lee ended the season as the second-best freshman long jumper in the country, behind only Florida's Marquis Dendy. If he continues doing track next football offseason and gets more event-specific training, he could seriously contend for the national title.

Three of USC's top four sprinters -- 400-meter runners Bryshon Nellum and Joey Hughes and 100-meter man Aaron Brown -- failed to qualify for their events' finals, to be held Friday.

Only Josh Mance advanced of the sprinters, running a 44.83 in the 400 to finish second among all runners.
