True freshman Dillon Baxter is about to go viral again. The early enrollee running back just broke a 58-yard, double-spin, run in the third quarter, wowing the sparse crowd here at the Coliseum.
A 50-yard run by Baxter in a scrimmage earlier this spring caught national attention, and today's run might have been just as impressive. On fourth and three, Baxter took the ball and ran down the left sideline, only to cut back toward the middle of the field. A few plays later, third-string quarterback James Boyd — in for his first series — threw a short touchdown pass to Kyle Prater for a touchdown.
On the offense's next possession, quarterback Mitch Mustain led his squad down the field and hit receiver Travon Patterson for a 38-yard score.
The offense has taken a 35-27 lead. Meanwhile, injured Trojans continue to run (or walk) up and down the Coliseum steps.
