USC receiver Brandon Carswell looks to be staying, after all.
The redshirt junior appeared to announce via Twitter last week that he was heading to Cincinnati to join fellow former USC receiver Vidal Hazelton, but apparently has had second thoughts.
A post on Carswell's account last Wednesday read: "Leaving to Cincinnati on Tuesday... It's going to be new but fun I can't wait." The next day, a post responded to a fan who questioned the decision: "...I have been my whole time at SC it's just sometimes things don't work out ya know."
But various tweets over the last few days seemed to indicate Carswell was leaning toward staying. And, although Carswell has not made a formal announcement or responded to requests for comment, a team source said Tuesday that Carswell was staying at USC.
Carswell would be the Trojans' fourth scholarship returnee at receiver — Ronald Johnson, Brice Butler, De'Von Flournoy are the others. David Ausberry, who played at tight end during spring practice but is likely to practice at receiver come fall.
The Trojans also have incoming freshmen Robert Woods, Markeith Ambles and Kyle Prater at the position.
