It's halftime at the Galen Center, and USC leads UCLA 32-29 through the first 20 minutes of play.

Dwight Lewis has a game-high 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting, including two big 3-pointers. Reserve guard Donte Smith and forward Marcus Johnson have added seven points each for the Trojans.

For the Bruins, forward Nikola Dragovic has nine points and Reeves Nelson has eight. As a whole, UCLA shot 41 percent from the field. USC is at 43 percent.

USC trailed 29-28 near the end of the half before a Lewis reverse lay-up and Marcus Johnson jumper gave the Trojans a halftime lead.

For all intents and purposes, USC has been without the services of point guard Mike Gerrity, who looks listless on the floor. Gerrity hasn't shot the ball and has only one assist so far.

Coach Kevin O'Neill replaced him early on with Smith, who has thrived in 11 minutes.
