Basketball: USC releases 2011-2012 schedule

USC released its 2011-2012 basketball schedule Wednesday, over a month earlier than it did a year ago, in Kevin O'Neill's second season on the job.

Included are home games against the likes of Kansas, Nebraska, Georgia and TCU and road contests at schools like San Diego State and Minnesota. The Trojans will play only three true non-conference road games and only four in the opponent's city. Still, a potential matchup against North Carolina and a game at UNLV -- along with the normal Pac-12 gauntlet -- make it another tough schedule for USC.

“There won’t be a more challenging schedule top to bottom in the country,” USC coach Kevin O'Neill said in a statement. “We will really be tested. Our team lost four starters from last season, but we are confident our team will be very competitive no matter who we play."

The Kansas game doesn't look promising as far as big crowds go. Scheduled for Dec. 22 at the Galen Center, students will be away on Winter Break. USC's Dec. 23 game against Lehigh last year had an announced attendance of just 3,562.

Here's the schedule in its entirety, with all home games at the Galen Center and road games at the opponent's arena, save for especially-marked games with the location noted. No game times have been announced:
