Ducks to meet Stars in opening round
By Arash Markazi
LOS ANGELES -- The Anaheim Ducks will face the Dallas Stars in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. Game 1 of the series will take place at the Honda Center on Wednesday, April 16.
The Ducks had the best record and the top seed in the Western Conference for the first time in club history and will play Dallas in the postseason for the third time since 2003.
Dallas actually went 2-1-0 against Anaheim this season but Dan Ellis, who is now with Florida, was in goal for both wins. Jack Campbell was in goal for the loss in his lone game of the season while Kari Lehtonen has not played against the Ducks this season.
Anaheim figures to get a decent scouting report on the Stars from defenseman Stephane Robidas, who was traded to the Ducks from Dallas last month.
It has been a record-breaking season for the Ducks as they have set franchise records for most points and winning percentage and have recorded 25 comeback wins this season, the most in the NHL since the Washington Capitals during the 2010-11 season.
