The Angels continued to focus on college talent in Day 3 of the draft. Of their 25 picks, all but two were from four or two-year colleges.

The most surprising aspect of the Angels' draft is that they have yet to take a player from California. One name that stands out: pitcher Kenneth Hatcher from Dallas Baptist. He's the nephew of recently fired Angels hitting coach Mickey Hatcher.

Here are the team's picks from Wednesday:

RHP Yency Almonte, Columbus High (Miami, Fla.)
3B Ryan Dalton, Texas-San Antonio
RHP Aaron Newcomb, Delta State
OF Quintin Davis, McLenna CC (Texas)
RHP Patrick Lowery, Columbia
C Anthony Bemboon, Creighton
3B Mike Snyder, Florida Southern
RHP Garrett Bush Flagler
CF Kyle Johnson, Washington State
