Odom, Hill out for Saturday in Utah

PLAYA VISTA, Calif. -- Los Angeles Clippers forwards Lamar Odom and Grant Hill will not play in the Clippers’ exhibition game Saturday night against the Utah Jazz, Clippers coach Vinny Del Negro said Friday.
Odom and Hill were held out of Wednesday’s game against the Jazz and have not practiced since the team returned from an eight-day trip in China.
Hill, who turned 40 earlier this month, is dealing with some soreness in his knees, and Odom, who came into training camp overweight, has been dealing with conditioning issues and soreness in his knees as well. Del Negro wasn't sure if they would be back for Monday's preseason game against the Golden State Warriors.
“I want to talk to [head athletic trainer] Jasen [Powell] and see what their physical therapy stuff is looking like and what they have to do,” Del Negro said. “We're going to take our time with them.”
Clippers guard Chauncey Billups returned to full-contact practice Friday and scrimmaged after being held out the past two days. Billups, who had season-ending surgery to repair a torn left Achilles tendon in February, will not play during the preseason but is still hoping to return sometime in November or December.
“Chauncey looked good,” Del Negro said. “He gives us another element out there, another dimension. It’s good to see him out there. He looked comfortable.”
