Chris Paul led Wake Forest to its first No. 1 ranking.
Chris Paul's No. 3 will be retired at halftime of Saturday's Wake Forest-Maryland game in Winston-Salem, N.C., as his alma mater celebrates "Chris Paul Day." He will be the 11th Wake player to have a jersey retired and the first since Josh Howard in 2004.

Paul led Wake Forest to its first No. 1 ranking in 2004 and a spot in the Sweet Sixteen. In his two seasons at the school, the Demon Deacons went 48-16 and made two NCAA tournament appearances. He ranks second among Wake Forest's all-time career leaders in 3-point shooting percentage (.469), and seventh in assists and steals.

"He was back in December for an afternoon and took two busloads (of children) to Toys 'R' Us and bought a bunch of Christmas presents for some kids," assistant athletic director Mike Odom told WFMY News'"Good Morning Show." "He's just been a great ambassador not only for the Triad community but for Wake Forest also and we're excited to have him back."

Wake Forest seniors C.J. Harris, Spencer Jennings and Will Murphy and senior student managers will be honored in a pregame senior day ceremony.
